ABSTRACT The study aimed at the impact of micro-finance institutions on the welfare of women in Uganda. The purpose of the study was to establish the impact of micro-finance institutions on the welfare of women in Uganda Case of Kalerwe Market. The study aimed at existing literature on impact of micro-finance institutions on the welfare of women in Uganda of MFI specifically deals with dependent and independent variables and influence on credit management that has caused to performance of microfinance, this is done basing on the objectives of the study. This part also discusses on what other scholars have written concerning on credit management and performance of microfinance researchers view on the topic as influenced by other authors. Data was analyzed using tables and after cleaning, the data the researcher entered it into the computer for further analysis to present various and figures which were used to demonstrate information for easy understanding , through these procedures the study found the relationship between credit management and profitability of microfinance for that matter the objectives of credit management found out that Kalerwe market on microfinance properly manages its credit extended to their customers through proper credit analysis and using experienced labor to analyze the ability of borrowers to pay back and the profitability of microfinance was promising, and findings of the study were organized in light of researcher. In conclusion the findings confirmed that there is a relationship between credit management and performance of microfinance to the women, the recommendation that have resulted from this study for example should maintain some of their required terms and conditions and train staff in the loan departments to reduce bureaucracy. They should also simplify the banks credit policies understanding and consider the interest rates charges to client and this enables them to pay tn time.
